City Council
Title: Mayor
Ram Gomez

I was raised in Gregory, Texas and graduated from GP High School in 1978.  I moved to Aransas Pass in April of 1988 and still live here today.  I purchased the Bakery Café in May of 2005 and in 2014 opened an additional location in Rockport, Texas.  Aside from the restaurant business, I own a construction company by the name of R&A Construction. I also became a certified firefighter in 1999.

I have always been involved in the community and have served and volunteered for non-profit organizations such as the Aransas Pass Little League from 1989-1998, as Treasurer and Coach.  I was the president of the TCYSA Soccer League from 1990-1992.  In 2010, I joined the Aransas Pass Rotary Club and have served as President for 4 different terms.

I have received many accolades while serving.  I received the Paul Harris Fellow recognition from the Rotary Club for making contributions to the club.  I was awarded the 2013 Citizen of the Year from the Aransas Pass Chamber of Commerce as well as awarded Outstanding Citizen of the community from the Aransas Pass Woman’s Club.  Most recently, I was recognized by the VFW for dedicated services to the community and citizens of Aransas Pass in 2018.  While appreciated, I don’t serve in the community for awards or recognition..I serve because I am invested in Aransas Pass and love the city I represent.

I served as City Council Member from 2013-2015, and Mayor from 2017 to present.  I am a devoted business owner and citizen of Aransas Pass.
